With the pollutants we breathe, eat and put on our skins, it isn't a question of whether we need to detox or not, it is HOW we should detox. In addition to the "daily" toxins everyone consumes, I was blessed by a Brown Recluse Spider bite in March of 2008. I have learned how to facilitate my body's natural desire to detox with exercise, herbs, fiber, meditation, chlorella/spirulina and so much more.

Ayurvedic Master Cleanse

"The Master Cleanse" aka "The Lemonade Diet" was developed by Stanley Burroughs, who published it initially in the 1940s, and revived it in 1976 in his books The Master Cleanser and Healing for the Age of Enlightenment. It consists of water, lemon juice, maple syrup and cayenne pepper and no food allowed, you get calories to function from the lemon and maple syrup. I prefer using raw, unfiltered honey and small meals, including RAW MEAL shakes throughout the day as I do not like to fast. I do not do the drink to diet, I believe the drink helps keep my organs clean!

Nourish, Cleanse and Exercise

By eating good foods, drinking good clean water, consuming enough fiber and exercising we can cleanse and nourish our bodies and delay the "aging process" we all face. Our body is producing new cells all the time and by giving it nutritious ingredients to build new cells and fiber to bind the toxic waste for elimination we become healthier as a whole. I wrote a column called Ways to Wellness in the magazine TruthSeekerTimes.com, by clicking on this link you can read some of the past issues.

I use a variety of traditions, old and new, to eliminate toxins, physical and metaphysical, which enter my life every day. Chemicals in the air I breathe, additives in the food I eat and problems I must deal with on a daily basis, all take their toll on my body.  The "negative stuff" we all face can cause "dis-ease" of our bodies, our minds and our spirits.

A couple of REALLY THOROUGH "physical" detoxes yearly are good (activated charcoal, fasting, liquid diets, etc.) but every day my body, mind and soul need my HELP.  Yoga, Qi (chee) gong, nutrition, meditation, music, crystals, colors, herbal supplements, quantum physics, and writing a journal, are some of the tools I use to detox daily and stay healthy. I share what I have learned with others and help them find the tools that work for them. I have been drinking alkaline water for a couple of years now and have found it to be EXTREMELY helpful in reducing the acidity of my body. Cancer research shows disease cannot live in an alkaline environment.

Take It Slow, It's Not an Overnight Process

Getting healthier and losing weight takes time. Some say it isn't easy, and if you think that way, you are right, it isn't easy. If you let it be easy and fun you can make significant changes in all aspects of your life.

Take your time shopping and choosing healthy ingredients to nourish your body and plan your meals with a variety of spices to make it interesting and delicious.

It took years to become unhealthy, you can't change that overnight. Don't feel any guilt and simply make changes now.  The human body is the best example of forgiveness. You can reverse the aging process and lose weight by slowly replacing bad habits with good ones.

Here's what two of my "famous in the healing world" teachers say about me: C. Norman Shealy, MD, PhD founder of the American Holistic Medical Society says this about me, "Diane is a jewel spreading joy and health as she goes."  Winter Robinson, PhD, says, "Medical Intuits come in all shapes and sizes with different areas of expertise. Diane Jackman Skolfield is one of those rare intuitives who not only senses the imbalance in a person's body, she backs her impressions up with solid, practical nutritional advice. When I need another pair of eyes, Diane is the one I turn to."

Yes, that would be me blowing my own horn, but, somebody's gotta do it;) Many Blessings On Your Day!!!
