Healin The Earth is a lot of work, but I think it is worth it !
Aligning My Meridians with the Earths
Here's a pose I do anytime, any place. The reasoning behind it's calming affect comes from the theory that the earth has meridians and the human body does too. I stand with my arms up straight above my head so my arms are even with my ears, my hands flat to the heavens above and my feet flat on the ground below and tilt my pelvis in slightly, knees bent slightly and breathe deeply. I take at least 7 deep breaths-but when I started I only took 3 deep breaths. It's pretty powerful. This action allows my meridians to line up with the earth's. I can feel my hands and feet getting warmer and whatever pain of mind or body I was experiencing simply melts away. If it feels good, do it ;)
I start every day with a series of Qi (chee) gong moves and this one is done while I am boiling the water for my detox tea. I count, "1 and 2 and 3 and" while raising my left arm and foot as one and then the right arm and foot, then 2 is the left arm and foot again, etc... It takes 99 of these repititions to almost boil my morning cup of tea. (I put the Pau d'Arco tea bag in the water while it is boiling and then add my Calli after I take it off the stove and the boil goes away. I have been told, putting a green tea bag into boiling water destroys some of the teas natural healing enzymes-whatever, I want all I can get out of it:) Back to the pose-I imagine I am pulling the earth's purple energy up through my foot, to my Dan Tien, rather like a puppeteers lifting with a suction cup of the hand and foot doing the pulling. I do it very slowly and wake up while I count.
and now comes the fun part. After slowing down from my bouncing and shaking I let my whole body move in whatever way The Universe wants me to move it. I flow in the air, thinking about the swirls of energy around my body, around every living thing. The National Institutes of Health gave this energy surrounding our bodies a name in 1994, it's called our "Bio-field". I picture the clouds surrounding my body in my mind and move my hands through them in a free form style. If I were to take these moves and make them into more precise, documented healing positions with a sequence, I would be doing Tai Chi. Qi (chee) gong was the forerunner of Tai Chi. I like the free form Unverse directed sequence, remembering to gather energy from the earth and the heavens and, if I am outside, as many trees as I have time to embrace. Their energy is warm and beautiful and mixes well with mine. I have taught classes in Chiefland in the back yard and ladies have been quite surprised when they too, can feel the enrgy of the trees.
