Getting healthier and losing weight is easy, if you take your time. It takes years to become unhealthy, you can't change that overnight. Fad diets aren't good for you.
The human body is the best example of forgiveness. You can reverse the aging proces and lose weight by slowly replacing bad habits with good ones.

| Whenever I decide I need to lose a few pounds I begin to eliminate the "toxic" ingredients present in my life.
I take Milk Thistle daily to help my liver do it's job. Burdock helps clean my blood, Red Clover helps clean my lymph system and Cilantro helps eliminate metals from my body.
| Check the labels of the food you eat. Artificial ingredients are toxic to some people. My body produces fat to store things like high frustose corn syrup, sucralose, artificial colors, sugar, etc...(see the toxic list page for a more complete list of things to avoid). Doing a "detox" by eliminating "bad" things over a period of a few days (quitting all at once is too much of a shock for my body). First I cut back and then eliminate my alcohol consumption, then "the white junk" like sugar, flour, etc. and I drink extra Sunrider "detox" teas and lots of good, clean water. I eat several, small REAL FOOD meals throughout the day; fresh veggies, fruit, and protein. I also start with a natural colon cleanse to help my body absorb nutrients better and change back to "good habits"...for awhile:)

Diet Day # 1-When I decide it's time to "get back in the healthy groove" I pick a day when I am going to be able to stay home so I don't have to exert myself. If I am going to eat less I don't want to be working hard. I like to use a colon cleanse (all natural only) the night before and then eat fruit and veggies all day. A half an apple after I do my morning exercise, some watermelon about an hour after my apple, maybe some strawberries about an hour after my watermelon, and so on throughout the day, eating small amounts of raw fruit and veggies all day long. I allow about an hour in between different foods because I believe our bodies digest one thing at a time easier than it digests many types of food at once. I also have a small piece of cheese or a piece of an all natural sliced turkey (Boar's Head has no preservatives) throughout the day for protein. Little bits of food-always sitting down and focusing on what I am doing, chewing thoroughly and being thankful. When I start a diet I generally drink more water and more tea too! Now some people will need to cut back on fruit (good fructose-carbs) in order to lose weight. I recently did a cleanse of all carbs. No alcohol, no sugar, no breads and no fruit for nearly a month and my skin is healthy again.

Diet Day #2- I keep eating fruit and veggies throughout the morning. The "Fit for Life" diet ideas support the idea our bodies want to elimnate before eating anything in the morning, so, when I am in the "healthy" mode I eat fruit all morning, small amounts, with plenty of time to digest in between. I save my proteins, simple carbohydrates and fats for afternoon, after elimnation. The idea is to eat small amounts of healthy food so the cells in our bodies can make healthy new ones. When we "starve" our bodies we slow our metabolism down and our bodies store the fat it has. When we eat healthy, real food, our body operates efficiently, we metabolize fat and lose weight.
| Diet Day #3- Fruit, veggies, exercise. Do I sound like a broken record? Well, I know eating real, healthy food and breathing deeply and I will lose weight. Yes, just breathing deeper is helping me to metabolize more efficiently and lose weight. By Day 3 I am usually sleeping better, thinking more clearly and feeling more energetic. I start doing more yoga poses (like warrior) a couple of times, along with a few minutes of Qi (chee) gong bouncing to help speed up my metabolism. I continue with Day 4 and Day 5 much the same as the beginning of the diet and always allow myself to have a day of rest from the "diet". On the day I "take off" I don't eat alot of anything but I might treat myself to a couple of healthy sweet snacks (a little organic dark chocolate or a couple of Newman's Ginger-O cookies). Yes, if I am going to eat something sweet, I will eat something naturally sweetened with Stevia, Xylo-sweet or pure cane sugar. I NEVER consume artificial sweeteners-they have been proven to make you GAIN weight.
